Older Amercians across the country are a huge resource of information when it comes to not only preparing for a natural disaster but also what to do after a disaster occurs. Most of our older Americans have lived through a variety of tough situations: tornadoes, floods, The Great Depression, wars etc.

 Young people should be encouraged to go to thier elderly nieghbors and include them in thier preperations....the young will actually come out ahead. How many people under the age of 60 for example know how to can food, start a garden, make bread, cure meats?

Older Americans could be used in advertising showing younger people how to do things to prepare for or get along after a disaster.....win win for all.
