Emergency Preparedness in the classroom

It is time to educate the nation’s youth on the importance of emergency preparedness.  School systems public and private should be mandated to educate on emergency preparedness.  This would provide citizens a mind set at an early age on why emergency preparedness is so important.  May times we see citizens ill prepared when a disaster strikes.  Education is the key to ensuring that all citizens have at least an awareness of how to prepare for a multitude of natural and man-made disasters.  Classes could be taken as an elective in the student’s high school year.  Curriculum could be based the National Incident Management System.
