Engaging Policy Group Members
Seperatly from my role as Mayor, I am writing a new training program " The Policy Group Role in Incident Command and Emergency Management". from experiance I have seen the importance of having engaged and well trained elected officials supporting emergency management with proactive policy before, during and after a disaster and appropriate actions during times of emergency.
Secondly an engaged Policy Group Leader is the best cheerleader for engaging the public as well as can act more effectivly following a disaster.
The City of Pacific saw this following the US Army Corps of Engineers caused flooding in January of 2009 and efforts at a public meeting following the flood to strart the rebuilding process.
