Volunteer Integration
The City of Pacific is finalizing an aggressive Volunteer Managment / Volunteer Training Plan for inclusion in its CEMP. This plan will create a 3 tiered system of volunteers from emergent or spontanious to those trained for position specific duties. As part of this plan we are also creating a training program that will segway with our multi year training and exercise program.
Being a city of just over 6000 people, we do not have the ability to fully staff all EOC and community positions for multiple operational periods. To compensate we are provideing training to specific citizen volunteers to help perform those functions. These volunteers will then also be included in our twice annual exercises.
As the Mayor (me) holds both a MEP and is credentialed as an instructor (ICS, CERT, COOP Planning and AWR 160), we have the capability to establish this program.
A group of 3 citizens and 3 local business members along with City Staff will form the initial committee tasked with performing a Perfromance Needs Anaylisis and training needs assesments. The full program should be functioning by this summer.
