Faith-Based Community Preparedness Campaign
Our communities are made up of a diverse group of people. According to recent surveys, a common theme among people is religion. The on-line encyclopedia, Wikipedia reports that 83 percent of Americans claim to belong to a religious denomination and 40 percent claim to attend services nearly every week or more, I recommend that FEMA implement a preparedness campaign targeting members of the faith-based community. A simple uniform message could be co-developed with the faith-based community that pulls from the scripture reference that "no man knows the day nor the hour, but all believers must be prepared." With church approval, this simple message can be promoted in hundreds of "church bulletins over a strategic period of time (before hurricane season, during preparedness month, etc.) I would love to participate in such an effort. and believe it could be extremely successful. Thanks for hearing my submission.
