Partner with youth groups, especially the Boy Scouts of America, by providing family ememgency preparedness kits or instructions on how to make them for home.  Kids love to earn patches, so if you work with the National Boy Scout office maybe they can help design a family emergency preparedness patch that the scouts can earn.  If earning the patch includes involving the family in making the kits and learning about their local community emergency preparedness plans and locations, potentially thousands of additional families can be prepared.  The Boy Scouts already have an emergency preparedness merit badge that does an excellent job in helping families be prepared, but only a small percentage of the scouts get that far.  Working with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers and Explorers could include hundreds of thousands of more families. 

The Boy Scouyt Motto is Be Prepared, so this would fit in perfectly.  You could also incorporate some of the "Do1Thing" materials so it can be spread out over time.
